Getting A Little Steamy in Here...Ok, Not Really

This mask was a blast to play with. I had gotten curious about foil masks after seeing Fiddy from Fifty Shades of Snail on her social media accounts rocking the baked potato look. The more I researched, the more curious I got. So I hopped on Ebay and ordered one of the more reasonably priced masks. I ended up with the Nature Republic Premium Gold Steam Foil Mask Sheet. I could not bring myself to put actual sheets of gold on my face, as is apparently a trend. I had the worst urge to be snarky and lay all my Mom's gold jewelry on my face and take a picture for this review, but I restrained my self. I already get looks of judgment from my dogs.

The Nature Republic Premium Gold Steam Foil Mask Sheet was in the "hydro-gel cut" for sheet masks, which means it is cut in two pieces. The mask itself surprised me. I was expecting just foil. It was actually a regular sheet mask with a foil covering. It was quite thick and a bit awkward.

The mask scent was lightly citrusy with a tiny hint of floral I picked up on. I am quite sensitive to florals, so if I see florals on a package, I am a bit wary. This scent was just fine though and was quite
pleasant.

The fit of the mask was all wrong though. I had a hard time keeping it on and had to be slightly reclined to be able to keep it on. You know, through all the laughing. I looked ridiculous as you can see. The cheeks and lower chin were hard to keep on ant the nose area barely touched skin.

The mask is meant to be kept on for only 10 minutes. I laughed the whole time. Dad made C3P0 jokes and my boyfriend told me I looked like Leatherface had gotten dressed by Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

Back to my skin. The parts of the mask that were actually touched by the mask felt good. I was well moisturized. When I woke up in the morning it still felt good. No greasy skin either! So all in all this was a pleasant experience because of the humor. If the fit of the mask were better, I would re-purchase. As is, I think I will look up foil masks from other brands.
