Neocell: Beautiful Skin Through Suppliments

When I was approached by Neocell to do a review of their products on my blog, I was intrigued. I had seen vitamins for skin, hair and beauty, but I had never taken any. I have pretty healthy hair and my skin was never terrible. I do love to try new things and I loooove researching new things. So off I went!

I received the products in this review from Neocell in exchange for my honest review. I received no monetary compensation for this review.

The two products I was sent by Neocell were the Ceramides Skin Hydrator and the Beauty Bursts Gourmet Collagen Soft Chews. I was pleasantly surprised by both! I always hear stories about supplements not doing what you expect, but these worked out for me quite well.

The Neocell Ceramides Skin Hydrator was the product that surprised me the most. I was skeptical of a product that hydrates without ingesting liquid. Lets take a closer look at the ingredients in this product.

The first ingredient listed was Vitamin C. Vitamin C is important for your skin as it in an important part in the production of collagen. The next ingredient is coconut water, which is currently being marketed as a natural sports drink. It contains electrolytes, which are important for hydration. Hyaluronic acid is up next. I always associated hyaluronic acid as a topical ingredient for hydrating skin, and I was not aware that it could be taken internally as well. As we age levels of hyaluronic acid in the body fall, which leads to sagging skin. Not a picture we want to imagine in our future. The phrase “sagging skin” doesn't even sound good. Phytocerimide extract, or phytocerimides, contain lipids which help our skin to plump. Pine bark extract, lutein and astaxanthin are all powerful antioxidants.

I was surprised how much I liked this product. I recently started using Differin, which is a topical retinol gel that is known to dry out your skin during use. My skin became much less dry and sensitive when I was using this product. I wanted to make sure I truly was experiencing the effects of the supplements, so after I had taken the entire bottle (two pills for thirty days), I watched my skin for a month. It became dry and sensitive again.

Now lets take a look at the ingredients in the Neocell Beauty Bursts Gourmet Collagen Soft Chews. This ingredient list is much simpler than the Skin Hydrator supplement. Hydrolyzed Collagen 1&3 are two different types of protein that support skin, hair and nail growth. The Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid were ingredients that were also present in the Skin Hydrator and explained above.

My stylist was the first to comment on my hair improvement. She asked me if I was using any supplements because my hair was thicker and glossier than it was when I was in six weeks before. I had noticed that my hair had become silkier, almost to the point of slipping out of hair clips.

Conclusions

I am very glad I tried both the Neocell Beauty Bursts Gourmet Collagen Soft Chews and the Neocell Ceramides Skin Hydrator. I have added them both to my daily regimen. I am curious to see what else Neocell has to offer!
